Local News in Brief : Countywide : Thierbach Campaign’s Defeat to Be Dissected
United Latino Democrats will meet Saturday to discuss the reasons why Democrat Christian F. (Rick) Thierbach lost to Republican Curt Pringle in last fall’s 72nd Assembly District election.
Among those who will attempt to explain the loss despite stronger Democratic registration will be Bill Mack, an aide to Assembly Speaker Willie Brown (D-Los Angeles).
Thierbach outspent Pringle, of Garden Grove, by about $70,000 in the $1.9-million battle that he ultimately lost by fewer than 900 votes.
The meeting will be at 10 a.m. at 250 E. Cypress St., Anaheim.
