W. James Tozer Jr. has been named president and chief operating officer of Prudential-Bache Securities, New York. James T. Gahan, president of Prudential-Bache capital funding--the investment banking, institutional and capital markets unit--has been named to the additional post of president of Prudential Securities Group, the holding company. James T. Barton, most recently president of Prudential-Bache Securities, has been named vice chairman of Prudential-Bache. Tozer, previously an executive at Marine Midland Bank, has been managing a portfolio of personal investments and business ventures.
