Torrey Pines Tops Rankings in Basketball
SAN DIEGO — Top-ranked Torrey Pines High School defeated No. 3 Poway last week to help keep the top three positions intact in The Times’ San Diego County boys’ high school basketball rankings. Lincoln, the No. 2 team, and Torrey Pines are both 20-1.
San Diego won twice last week to move the Cavers into top 10 for the first time this season. Point Loma dropped out of the rankings after league losses to Patrick Henry and Morse, two unranked teams.
The top five teams are unchanged in the girls’ poll. Ramona dropped to 10th, but San Marcos’ entry gives the Avocado League three teams in the rankings.
