State : Mother Leads Police to Son’s Grave

MODESTO — A search for a missing 3-year-old Modesto boy ended before dawn today when his mother and a friend showed officers where his body was buried, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
The body of Jerome Allen Martin was recovered about 4 a.m. from a shallow grave in a field about two blocks from his home in West Modesto. His mother, Ivy Lynn Martin, 25, and her roommate, Teresa Patterson, 18, were arrested for investigation of murder, but detectives had not determined a motive.
