Southwest 21, Ventura 18--L.A. Southwest used the running of Fred Leslie for two first-half touchdowns, then put the game away on a fourth-quarter TD pass to Jesse Galloway to record a Western State Conference victory. The Cougars improved to 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the WSC.
Leslie scored the game’s first touchdown on a one-yard run, then broke away for a 68-yard score in the second quarter as Southwest built a 14-3 halftime lead. Galloway hauled in an 8-yard scoring pass in the fourth quarter. Southwest plays its next conference game Saturday at Santa Barbara.
