The Carlsbad Theatre Company has been forced to postpone and move its production of Neil Simon’s “The Prisoner of Second Avenue” to Harding Center, 3096 Harding St., Carlsbad. The show will open Nov. 18 instead of Friday, said Jake Schmidt, the theater’s managing executive producer. The move was prompted by safety violations noted by the fire marshal that require general repair to bring the aging 430-seat Carlsbad Theatre at 2822 State St. permanently up to code, Schmidt said. The theater scheduled a press conference for 10 a.m. today to announce plans for the theater.
