Beverly Enterprises Inc. reported a third-quarter net loss of $11.5 million, contrasted with a $3.6-million profit a year earlier. Revenue dipped 4% to $510.2 million. The results include pretax charges of about $9.5 million relating to losses from the disposition of nursing homes and costs related to the sale of notes receivable to a real estate mortgage investment conduit. Beverly is a Pasadena-based long-term care company, operating nursing facilities, pharmacies, retirement living projects and home health agencies.
