An 18-year-old Cudahy man was fatally stabbed Tuesday during an early morning argument, police said.

Rafael Seirras was stabbed about 2 a.m. while sitting in the passenger seat of a car with an unidentified 18-year-old woman driver in the 2500 block of Greenhill Drive, according to Sgt. Jeff Roop.

Police were looking for Harold James Tracy, 21, as a suspect in the killing, Roop said. Tracy apparently was a former boyfriend of the woman, Roop said.

“Tracy had some things in the woman’s car, some clothing and other things,” Roop said. “She lives in the Greenhill area, and she was coming home (with Seirras in the car). Tracy was up there with some other individuals in a car. He wanted his things out of her car and somewhere along the course of getting out his things, he produced the knife and held it up against her throat. The next thing she knows, he’s in a fight with Seirras.”

Seirras was stabbed in the legs several times before the woman was able to start the car and drive from the scene, Roop said.

The woman drove Seirras to a gas station in Buena Park and called police and paramedics. Seirras was taken to La Mirada Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
