Convention Bureau Opened to Promote Compton Business
COMPTON — This city has opened a Convention and Visitors Bureau. An arm of the Community Redevelopment Agency, the new organization will provide services to the business community, in addition to publicizing the city’s hotels, attractions, auto plaza, meeting rooms, restaurants and other facilities.
The bureau is available to assist businesses in planning for luncheons, dinners, meetings, conferences and workshops, or for personal occasions, such as weddings, receptions, dances and parties.
On Nov. 25, the bureau will move its offices from City Hall to the new Compton Lazben Hotel, which will offer tennis and badminton courts, a swimming pool, Japanese and American restaurants, a jazz club, 300 guest rooms, a banquet-ballroom, a theater and three conference rooms. For more information, call Satra Dee Zurita or Cynthia Hughes at 605-5562 or 605-6664.
