OBITUARIES : Christine Nelson; Featured in ‘50s TV Show
Christine Nelson, a singer and comedian who was featured as Katie Jones on “The Ray Bolger Show” in the 1954-55 television season, died Monday of cancer at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. She was 60.
Over the years she performed with Milton Berle and Joey Bishop on their TV shows and on the old “Hollywood Palace” variety program. On records she was heard as Sarah Jockman on Alan Sherman’s popular album “My Son the Folk Singer” while making her own album, “Did You Come to Play Cards or to Talk?”
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Westwood Memorial Chapel. She is survived by her daughter, Chrissie.
