Santa Monica : Recyclers Join in ‘Taste of L.A.’
The city’s recyclers are using the “Taste of L.A.” event at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium to both promote recycling and to collect returnable glass.
Last weekend, Santa Monica Recycle--one of only five city-sponsored recycling programs in Los Angeles County--collected nearly a ton of glass at “Taste of L.A.” Recyclers set up special “glass-only” bins near areas where drinks are served.
The collection barrels will be out again this Saturday and Sunday, when the annual salute to food and drink concludes.
“Taste of L.A.” is open from noon to 11 p.m. each day. Admission is $6.
