Los Angeles authorities have issued an arrest warrant charging a Panorama City woman with the murders of her former boyfriend and his new roommate, officials said Tuesday.

Police said the warrant is for Charisse Lewis, 33, who was last seen July 17 as she left an apartment in the 8100 block of Lennox Avenue, where Jewel Prude, 34, and Shirley Marie Johnson, 35, had been fatally shot. Witnesses said Lewis, who also uses the name Charisse Brown, was carrying a gun as she fled, according to police.

Detective Mel Arnold said investigators believe that Lewis, who is pregnant, may still be in the area and asked that anyone with information about her call police.

Police said the shooting occurred a few days after Lewis moved out of Prude’s apartment and as Johnson was moving in. Lewis, who still had a key to the apartment, let herself in after Prude and Johnson left to go shopping, police said. The couple was killed shortly after they returned, authorities said.
