An escapee from a women’s prison in Washington state known as the “copycat strangler” in the Hillside Strangler investigation was captured in Tucson, Ariz., police said. Veronica Lynn Compton, 31, of Los Angeles was taken into custody after authorities received a tip that she was in the area. CBS-TV reported that Candice L. Burke, 28, who escaped July 26 with Compton and a 49-year-old man were also arrested. Police said the man may have helped the women escape, CBS reported.
