Beecham Cosmetics will reissue a 10-year-old commercial by Richard Williams, animation director of the Touchstone-Amblin Entertainment hit “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” Drawn by Williams himself, the 30-second spot for Jovan Musk Oil Cologne features a muscular hero based on the drawings of legendary fantasy illustrator Frank Frazetta. While Beecham’s senior vice president of marketing Victor Zast concedes that few viewers will realize that the Jovan spot is the work of the same animator who brought them Roger Rabbit, he said, “the commercial’s animation (which won a 1979 Clio Award) is bound to be buoyed by the high-profile film and create even more of a stir this time around.”
