Coping With Anger

Kenneth Anger, avant-garde film maker (“Lucifer Rising”) and chronicler of terrible Tinseltown in two “Hollywood Babylon” volumes, has returned from self-exile in Europe and NYC to film-adapt the outrageous books for producer Edward Pressman. The movie will feature rare footage and dramatic re-creation, possibly shooting by year’s end.

“It will reflect the books in both subject matter and tone,” Anger told us. “So, the film should be full of ironic black humor and feature some of the scariest moments in the history of the town.”

Anger will direct and edit, but won’t serve as on-screen host. Instead, a “Kenneth Anger character” will take the audience back in time to such moments as the Fatty Arbuckle scandal of 1921 and Robert Mitchum’s dope bust in the ‘40s.
