Defending champion Oklahoma State, the top-ranked team in college golf, heads the list of 32 teams that will play in the 91st National Collegiate Athletic Assn. golf tournament starting next Wednesday at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.
A total of 183 golfers--32 5-man teams plus 23 individuals contending for medalist--will play in the 4-day, 72-hole competition. It is the first time the men’s championship has been held in Southern California. USC, the eighth-ranked team, is the tournament host.
Other teams entered are UCLA, Hartford, Temple, St. John’s, Clemson, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana State, Florida, Georgia Southern, Memphis State, Ohio State, Illinois, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tulsa, Texas, Arkansas, Houston Baptist, Southern Methodist, Texas El Paso, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Washington.
