Local News in Brief : Garden Grove : Tindall Promoted to City Manager Position
The City Council promoted Assistant City Manager George Tindall on Monday to the post of city manager.
Tindall, 44, who has been assistant city manager for the four years, will replace Delbert L. Powers, who resigned last month. Tindall had been interim city manager.
Powers, 51, is now a part-time development consultant for the city. He worked for the city for 25 years, including the last eight years as city manager.
Tindall, who now earns $72,900 a year, was also instructed by the council to draw up a contract during the next two weeks for its consideration. Powers earned $82,500 a year before he resigned.
