Emergency Rooms Closing

Your editorial calls attention to another example of the many inadequacies in the system of health care in the U.S.

The delivery of health care seems excessively complicated and overly expensive!

For example: My daughter is a chronic, severe schizophrenic and disabled to the extent of being incapable of self-support. On that account she qualifies for certain medical and other benefits. To obtain these she must file claims with such departments as Social Security Disability, SSI, and the Orange County Mental Health Services.

Each one of these organizations makes its own determination of her disability. This seems like overkill to me but it certainly provides activity for a small army of clerks, supervisors, physicians, etc.
