Local News in Brief : Pepperdine Meets Goal

Pepperdine University has surpassed the $100-million goal of its “Wave of Excellence” fund-raising campaign a year and a half ahead of schedule and has received a $1-million gift from philanthropist George C. Page toward the construction of a humanities and fine arts building on its Malibu campus, school officials announced.

Although the fund-raising goal has been surpassed, the campaign will be continued through next year, school officials said.

“We still perceive many pressing needs,” said Pepperdine Vice President Michael F. Adams. “We need to continue to raise money for financial aid and for more chairs and professorships.”
