MCA Inc. has acquired Winterland Productions, the San Francisco-based music merchandising firm founded by rock and roll impresario Bill Graham in the early 1970s. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Winterland will become part of MCA’s Music Entertainment Group, but its current management will remain in place and its corporate offices and manufacturing operations will remain in San Francisco. The company recently provided all the merchandising for the Live Aid and Farm Aid concerts and the Hands Across America and USA for Africa charity fund-raising events.
