Pacific Palisades : Reservoir Cover Debate
A second public meeting on a proposed synthetic rubber cover over the Santa Ynez Reservoir in Palisades Highlands has been scheduled for April 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Palisades High School, Room B101, 15777 Bowdoin St.
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power wants to install the 9.2-acre cover to keep leaves, bird droppings and other pollutants out of the reservoir. It also will prevent algae by blocking sunlight. At a meeting March 7, several residents complained that the black cover is unnecessary and will interfere with the view.
The meetings are designed to gather public reaction to be included in an environmental impact report on the project.
