Commercial Actors on Strike

Commercial actors and announcers nationwide went on strike today as contract issues of cable television residuals and cost-of-living adjustments remained deadlocked. Picketing began at the advertising offices of Ogilvy & Mather in Los Angeles and Honolulu. In New York City, strikers were told to set up picket lines at General Motors Plaza during a GM board meeting. Similar demonstrations were planned for other cities later this week.
