Ceausescu
As long as the United States is in the business of overthrowing dictators, we ought to add Nicolae Ceausescu to our hit list. His tight-fisted policies have made despair a commonplace experience for his countrymen, who are under so much surveillance they can hardly yawn without the government microphones picking it up. The Romanians could not revolt against this megalomaniac if they tried. How they survive is beyond understanding. The world must give them all the support it can.
