Soviet rock star Boris Grebenshchikov has signed a contract to cut an album of his songs with American musicians, making his the first American-produced Soviet rock album released in the U.S., it was announced Friday in Moscow. Grebenshchikov said his songs, some in Russian and others in English, will be performed by his group Aquarium and American musicians who are to be chosen later. Grebenshchikov is to record the album in New York and Los Angeles this summer for CBS Records, which plans distribution in the United States, Europe and the Soviet Union.
