Lazers Are Taking Their Chances With Them to Chicago
The Lazers, coming off their most impressive win of the year, have gone on the road for two games beginning today in Chicago against the Sting.
The 12 goals the Lazers scored Friday night in their 12-6 victory over the Baltimore Blast tied a club record. More important, the victory improved the Lazers’ chances of making the playoffs.
With 12 games remaining in the regular season, the Lazers (22-22) are in a second-place tie with the Tacoma Stars and Kansas City Comets. The Wichita Wings trail them by 3 1/2 games in the race for the four Western Division playoff berths.
The front-running San Diego Sockers wrapped up first place Saturday night with an 8-3 victory over the Blast.
Chicago (20-23) is in fourth place in the East, two games ahead of the Blast and 5 games behind the division-leading Minnesota Strikers.
