Los Angeles Festival director Peter Sellars said the next Los Angeles Festival will “definitely” be held in 1990, not 1989, as once planned. Sellars, who has reportedly turned down two years of directorial work to devote himself full time to the festival, said: “I wanted time to prepare properly. If you’re going to spend that much money, do it well.” Sellars also said that he needs time to relocate from Washington and get to know Los Angeles and that he wants additional time to raise funds.
