Peter Mueller of Switzerland won his second World Cup downhill of the season at Beaver Creek, Colo.
Unheralded Canadian Donald Stevens was second and Marc Girardelli of Luxembourg was third.
Olympic champion Pirmin Zurbriggen of Switzerland, the downhill and overall World Cup leader, finished 27th and failed to score points. In the overall standings, he has 224 points to 213 for Italy’s Alberto Tomba, who races today in the slalom.
