UCLA Names Architect to Design Complex
Henry N. Cobb, one of three founders of the architectural firm I. M. Pei & Partners, will design the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management complex at UCLA.
Leidenfrost/Horwitz & Associates and I. M. Pei & Partners will serve as associate architects.
The $67.2-million, 203,000-square-foot project will house UCLA’s graduate management and executive education program, including classrooms, faculty and staff offices, a library and research center.
The complex, which will be built in the northwest portion of the campus, is expected to be completed in the early 1990s.
Cobb’s work includes the Place Ville Marie in downtown Montreal, the John Hancock Tower in Boston, the world headquarters of Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, N.J., the Arco Tower in Dallas, the Museum of Art in Portland, Me., and the downtown Los Angeles Library Tower, which is under construction.
