Rustie Brown, 58, a magazine columnist and author who specialized in nautical subjects. She became interested in marine books after interviewing a survivor of the Titanic, and over the years wrote “The Mariner’s Trivia Book,” “The Titanic, the Psychic and the Sea” and “Women as We See Ourselves,” a collection of her columns. In Los Angeles on Thursday of a heart attack.
