CS Fullerton to Play Pac-10 Team Tonight: Washington
A Pacific 10 team will play in Titan Gym for the first time tonight when Washington meets Cal State Fullerton in a nonconference basketball game at 7:30.
Fullerton, an early-season surprise, is just one basket away from being 6-0. A 70-69 loss to Texas Tech in the season opener at Lubbock was the team’s only defeat.
Wednesday night, the Titans humbled Pepperdine, 80-60. That victory followed their success in the Brigham Young tournament last weekend at Provo, Utah.
Fullerton has been winning with balanced scoring and a pressure defense that has led to some easy baskets and some frustrated opposing players. Fullerton opponents are averaging 20.8 turnovers a game. The Titans are averaging 10.5.
Washington has not played in 10 days, since beating Portland, 74-47. The Huskies have been a bit hard to figure. They opened the season with an 81-72 loss to Utah State in the Great Alaska Shootout, then came back the following day to beat defending national champion Louisville, 69-54.
