Madame Wong’s West isn’t the only longtime pop scene hang-out that’s dimming its lights. Duke’s restaurant, a popular rock ‘n’ roll breakfast meeting spot, is shutting its doors at the end of the month. (It’s part of the Tropicana Motel complex, which is scheduled to close later this year.) The good news, according to Duke’s management, is that the rock watering hole will reopen, “early in December,” at 8909 Sunset Blvd., next door to the Whisky rock club. Duke’s staffers say the new eatery will be open 24 hours.
