‘Lesson for Deukmejian’

In reference to your editorial, I would like to point out where I think you to be all wrong.

You state, I quote, “Deukmejian complains that Bird, Grodin and Reynoso have thwarted the public will. But judges are not selected to waver back and forth according to the whims of public will,” unquote.

Now I wonder why not? We, the taxpayers, provide their huge salaries, therefore they are our public servants. Since they are on our payroll, we certainly should be entitled to the privilege to vote them out, to deny us that right is a concept that we the people don’t count, that we ordinary citizens should bow down like a whipped lamb and submit to the dictatorial terms of all the judges, both federal and state.
