Woman Held in Friend’s Shooting
A 31-year-old Westminster woman was being held on suspicion of attempted murder after her boyfriend was shot during an argument, police said.
According to Officer Larry Woessner, the 15-year-old son of Linda Faye Carreno telephoned police at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to report that his mother and Lawrence C. Bigley, 61, were arguing; he called again later to say that Bigley had been shot.
When officers arrived at the house in the 5600 block of Harold Place, Woessner said, they found Bigley suffering from a .22-caliber bullet wound in the stomach. Following treatment by paramedics, Bigley was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition Friday.
Carreno was booked into Orange County Jail and bail was set at $250,000.
