Culver City : Firm Awarded Waste Contract
The City Council on Monday awarded a Huntington Beach company a contract to help the city obtain a provisional permit from the county to store hazardous waste in underground tanks.
The city hired Hekimian & Associates Inc. to inspect the city’s 14 hazardous-waste tanks for possible leaks and advise the city when repairs are needed, according to a city staff report. The company will be paid $5,450 to conduct tests and handle paper work for the storage permits.
Repair costs cannot be estimated because the city is not sure of the condition of the tanks, the report said.
