Huntington Park : Club’s Permit Under Fire
The City Council has scheduled a Sept. 2 public hearing for comments on the renewal of a dance and entertainment permit for the Kahlua Club, 6925 Pacific Blvd.
In a report to the council, Police Chief Geano Contessotto protested the renewal of the permit because of incidents of public drunkenness and “a history of police problems” near the club, including robberies and assaults.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department also filed a protest with the city because of several violations found in an inspection. Among the violations are dead-bolt locks on exit doors and excess electrical wires behind the bar.
The owner, Manuel Mancilla, could not be reached for comment.
