Costa Mesa : Summer Enrollment at OCC Sets Record
Orange Coast College’s current summer enrollment is the largest in the 39-year history of the community college.
Officials said 12,112 students have signed up for summer classes, a 6.9% increase over last summer’s previous summer enrollment record of 11,330.
Wayne H. Wolfe, dean of admissions and records, said that not only are more students than ever enrolled for summer at the college but that they also are taking more units of study than ever before.
About 41.5% of the summer students are taking classes at the college for the first time. This represents an increase in new students of 10% over the previous summer.
Fall semester at the college will begin Aug. 19, and registration permits are available in the college’s Admissions Office.
