Tandy will spin off its foreign retail operations.
The plan was tentatively approved by the Fort Worth consumer electronics manufacturer. It would put the operations into a separate public company to be called Intertan that would operate Tandy’s estimated 2,000 international retail stores. That segment of Tandy’s business has estimated annual sales of $400 million and assets of $250 million.
