Malibu Road Site Chosen for New Post Office
The U.S. Postal Service has selected a site on the southwest corner of Malibu Road for a new Malibu main post office, according to Postmaster Lee Gustafson.
Plans call for construction of a 15,000-square-foot post office.
Mail volume in the Malibu area has increased 40% over the past five years, causing overcrowding at the current site, 23648 Pacific Coast Highway.
The proposed facility would increase post office boxes from 595 to 1,100 and increase customer parking spaces from 9 to 40, while accommodating employee and postal vehicle parking.
