NCAA Women’s Swimming : Texas Edges Florida, Stanford
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Megan Neyer won the three-meter diving title for the fourth time Saturday night, but the Florida senior’s effort came too late to keep Texas from wrapping up its third straight NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship.
The Lady Longhorns finished with 633 points to 586 for runner-up Florida. Stanford, the first-day leader, was third with 538 and California finished fourth with 238.
Florida’s Cindy Ounpuu won the 200 breaststroke in an NCAA record 2:13.25. Texas had clinched the team title when Tracey McFarlane finished third in this event.
Mary T. Meagher of Cal set the only other NCAA record of the night with a 1:54.52 clocking in the 200-yard butterfly.
