Snyder Homers as Cleveland Wins, 11-10
TUSCON — Former Canyon High baseball player Cory Snyder hit a home run to help the Cleveland Indians defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 11-10 Wednesday in an exhibition game.
Snyder, a former all-Southern Section player at Canyon and a three-time All-American at Brigham Young, is in the Cleveland camp as an invitee.
In his professional debut last season, Snyder, 22, hit a league-leading 28 home runs, drove in 94 runs and hit .281 for Waterbury, a Class-AA club in the Eastern League. Snyder, an infielder, was Cleveland’s No. 1 draft pick in 1984, when he was a member of the U.S. Olympic team.
