Unbeaten lightweight Pernell Whitaker, previously idle for four months with a broken foot, now has a broken left hand and will be out of training from two-to-six months.
Whitaker, the 1984 Olympic champion, brought his professional record to 8-0 with a 10-round decision over John Montes Sunday at Hampton, Va., but injured the hand in the fourth round.
