7 Guerrillas, 1 Soldier Die in Colombia Clash

BOGOTA, Colombia — Seven guerrillas and one soldier were killed in a clash as troops patrolled a mountain zone of southwest Colombia, a Defense Ministry spokesman said Tuesday.
He said the battle Monday in Cauca province involved rebels from the M-19 movement, the group that seized Bogota’s Palace of Justice last November in a bloody battle that left about 100 people dead.
