Jordan Gets First of 3 Saudi Aid Payments

AMMAN, Jordan — Saudi Arabia has given Jordan $119.7 million as the first of three scheduled aid payments this year, the Jordanian Finance Ministry said Tuesday.
At a 1978 Arab summit meeting in Iraq, seven oil-producing states pledged aid to Jordan, Syria and the Palestine Liberation Organization in their confrontation with Israel. Jordan’s share was $1.25 billion a year.
