Safeguard Health Reports 1985 Net Earnings Up 33%
Safeguard Health Enterprises Inc. said 1985 net earnings climbed 33% to $3.4 million from $2.6 million a year earlier, while revenues rose 50% to $49.8 million from $33.2 million.
The Anaheim-based provider of prepaid dental care plans said net earnings for the fourth quarter also were up 33% to $970,000 from $729,000. Revenues for the period totaled $13.4 million, up 41% from revenues of $9.4 million.
Company officials said that during 1985, Safeguard expanded its operations into Colorado, Ohio, Oklahoma, Nevada and Missouri. Additionally, it increased enrollment to more than 660,000 and opened 17 company-owned dental offices.
