Pepperdine to Graduate 500 Saturday
Nearly 500 Pepperdine University students will receive bachelor’s and master’s degrees at fall commencement exercises Saturday.
Gordon P. Getty, principal trustee of the J. Paul Getty Museum and a composer, will receive an honorary doctor of fine arts degree. Paul Ziffren, chairman of the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee and a prominent Los Angeles attorney, will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree, as will Richard K. Eamer, chairman of National Medical Enterprises, one of the country’s largest health care companies.
Diplomas from Seaver College, Pepperdine’s undergraduate liberal arts school, will be awarded at 10:30 a.m. ceremonies at Firestone Fieldhouse. The School of Business and Management will hold graduation exercises at 2:30 p.m. in the same building.
Barney Klinger, chairman of Applied Companies, a manufacturer of military and industrial air conditioning equipment, will be honored.
