Kings Seek First Win at Boston Since ’81

The Kings play Coach Butch Goring’s Boston Bruins tonight at the Boston Garden (Prime Ticket, KGIL, 6 p.m. delayed). The Bruins beat the Kings, 5-2, last week at the Forum.

The Kings have lost the last six games they have played in Boston. The last time the Kings won a game here was Jan. 24, 1981, when they beat the Bruins, 6-4.

Left wing Charlie Simmer of the Bruins, a former King, is the second-leading scorer in the National Hockey League, behind Wayne Gretzky, with 17 points. Simmer is the leading goal scorer in the league with 11.

The Bruins beat the New Jersey Devils, 6-4, Tuesday night to complete a six-game trip with a 3-2-1 record.

The Kings (2-8) snapped a five-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders Tuesday night. It was the Kings’ first win on the road.
