Umpires Must Draw Line on Scioscia’s Tactics
Mike Scioscia of the Dodgers gets away with (almost) murder. He continually sits on the third base line without the ball and never gets called for it. As your front page picture (Aug. 24) shows, he is on the plate and baseline blocking the runner without the ball in his glove.
If he keeps it up, what’s to stop teams from hiring goalies to knock people around (like Scioscia does)?
