Congress Tuesday approved legislation that would add 20 U.S. Customs Service agents in the San Diego area. Money for the additional positions was included in a $13.3-billion appropriation bill passed by the House of Representatives, 249-172. Most of the agents will inspect cruise ships sailing in and out of San Diego. The measure still must be approved by the Senate. The Senate version, however, does not include money for the additional agents.
