A 26-year-old San Diego man died Monday after he drove his truck off a freeway exit and hit a tree, the California Highway Patrol reported. CHP dispatcher Liz Hill said the man, whose name was not released, missed a curve about 5 p.m. as he left Interstate 805 north at 40th Street. The truck jumped a curb and hit a tree, and the man died of his injuries at the scene, Hill said.
