Driving Under the Influence

I think the Steve Emmons article, “Confessions of a Drunk Driver” (June 7), was a tremendous eye-opening piece. His description of one’s feelings and actions when under the influence were extremely poignant. The part describing his loss of common sense is, in my opinion, the key to the problem when one has had too much alcohol to drink and then gets behind the wheel of a car.

The kind of experiment that Emmons underwent should be available to the public. I would very much like to send my two newly licensed 16-year-olds to a course such as that.

Three cheers for Emmons! I hope his article made as big an impression on others as it did on me!
